Grooming Guide for 2025

Grooming Guide for 2025

New look, new you! Make 2025 the year that you bring out your absolute best. Looking good and feeling good can be part of the process. We’ve created a checklist of what you need to do to be on-point with grooming, from head to toe.

Hair Health

What is always “out”? Greasy strands, dandruff, and scraggly sideburns. Get on top of your hair game this year!

  •  No more oily hair. Oily hair is due to overactive sebaceous glands, so battle against the oil and grease. Avoid cream and oil-based hair products and silicones, which can build up and attract oil and dirt, making hair look greasier. And although you think dry shampoo may help, it can worsen the situation. Choose an oil-clarifying shampoo with a lightweight, clear lather to cleanse effectively. Look for options free from harsh sulfates, which can strip your scalp and lead to overproduction of oil. When washing, thoroughly cleanse your scalp to manage oil production without damaging your hair.
  • Deal with dandruff. Dandruff is a byproduct of that sebum - a yeast fungus leading to scalp skin irritation, itching, dryness, and flaking. If dandruff is mild, start with a regular cleansing routine with a gentle shampoo. This will reduce oil and skin cell buildup. There are natural remedies, but a good specialized treatment shampoo containing zinc pyrithione or selenium sulfide will slow the rate at which your skin cells die and slough off. This can often do the trick in saying bye-bye to flakes. Make sure to rinse well and stay on top of it. If not, see your doctor for a prescription treatment option.
  • Look the part. What’s in now? It's a groomed but not overdone look. That means you can rock your floppy hair but clean up the look enough to walk into the boardroom confidently. How exactly do you achieve that? First, start with the right tool: a good trimmer. The MicroTouch Titanium Trim gives you the perfect, tidy, precise edge on your face, neck, back, and body with five precision-engineered attachments. Whether trimming up a scraggly beard or shaping up sideburns, the Titanium Trim is easy to use with zero burn or irritation.
  • Don’t forget to tweeze! Remove stray hairs in the center of the brow to avoid a unibrow, but don’t overdo it—keep it natural.  Invest in quality tweezers and a pair of eyebrow scissors for precision. Start by brushing your eyebrows outward from the nose so they lay flat. When tweezing, make sure to follow the natural curve over your eye socket—don’t attempt to create a new shape. Use scissors to trim any overly long hairs, keeping things tidy and proportional. Take it easy - it’s better to tweeze too little than too much!
  • Bald is beautiful! If you’re unhappy with thinning hair, consider the variety of treatments available for men. From topical solutions to advanced procedures, there’s something for every stage of hair loss. Be sure to research products thoroughly and pay close attention to customer reviews and results to find what works best for you. Option two - take inspiration from Sean Connery, Vin Diesel, and Stanely Tucci and embrace it. Developing a “bald is beautiful” regimen includes skin exfoliation and consistent shaving to keep things tidy. A clean, smooth scalp always looks polished and fresh, and the MicroTouch Titanium Head Shaver is a game-changer. It offers five times the coverage for a close, comfortable shave—no nicks, bumps, or cuts. With an easy grip and perfect control, it’s the ultimate tool for maintaining your bald style.

Skincare for the New Year

Take care of the face, too! Men often think a quick rinse in the shower does the trick, but don’t we all want to age gracefully? This means focusing on the 1-2-3 of skincare.

  1. Cleanse and exfoliate—It’s important to find a mild cleanser made specifically for the face to remove the dirt and grime of the day. If you tend to have oily skin, find a cleanser with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide to help control excess sebum production. For drier skin, find a cleanser with more intense hydration. Every two to three days, use a gentle exfoliant to clean a little deeper as well.
  2. Moisturize - Keeping the skin happy, supple, and aging well relies on moisturizing. Just like a cleanser, find one that fits your skin's needs. And note - moisturizing works only when it’s consistent. Plan twice a day, before leaving the house and before bedtime.
  3. Sunscreen—Protection is key! Make sure it’s SPF 30 or higher and make sure to apply it daily, even in winter. It protects your skin from signs of aging, sun damage, and the risk of skin cancer.

Body care: If your idea of body care starts and ends with a bar of soap in the shower, it’s time to step up your routine and give your skin the attention it deserves.

  • Skin: Just like the skin on your face, treat the rest of the body the same, cleansing, and gentle exfoliation with a good moisturizing regimen.
  • Hands: Cracked, dirty, and long nails don’t give off the grown-up and professional vibe, so keep your nails short, clean, and trimmed, using a hand cream to prevent dryness. If yours are dry, invest in a cuticle moisturizer.
  • Feet: Don’t neglect the feet! Ensure you consistently trim your toenails and pay attention to dry skin on the feet, especially cracked heels. Athletes' foot is a big no-no, and plenty of treatments exist to get rid of it.

For the finishing touch, choose a subtle, clean, and timeless scent to apply as you head out the door—it’s the perfect confidence boost. Most importantly, don’t forget to smile. Here’s to looking and feeling your best in 2025—cheers!
